Where is the family home located?

The family home is in Rabat, at 9 Rue Houara, Rabat, Morocco It is a lived and cared for home, held within the natural rhythm of family life.​

​

Which airports are closest?

The nearest airport is Rabat–Salé Airport (RBA), around 10 miles from the home. It is a calm and manageable airport, usually reached via one stop in Europe.

Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) is a larger international hub, approximately 60 miles away. Some guests prefer this option when flying directly from the United States.​

 

Do I need a visa?

US and UK passport holders do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days. A passport with at least six months validity and one blank page is required on entry.​ More details can be found here.

What should I say at immigration about where I am staying?You may simply say we are guests of the Alami family. Their home is at 9 Rue Houara, Rabat, Morocco.​

 

​The Home

​What is daily life like in the home?

Life at Mama Ghita's is shared gently and without formality. Guests are welcomed into the natural rhythm of family life and invited to settle in at their own pace. There are several shared living spaces, both inside and outside the house. These include a beautiful garden and a number of quiet, comfortable seating areas where guests can rest. The home is cared for with attention and simplicity. Water heating is supported by solar panels, reflecting a mindful approach to daily living that honors both the environment and the natural rhythms of the home.​

The Rooms

What are the sleeping arrangements?

Guest rooms are clean & comfortable. Each room is prepared with care and offers a quiet place to rest. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning to ensure comfort throughout the stay.​ Rooms are arranged as double, twin or triple and are allocated with care depending on availability.

What about bathrooms?

There are 3.5 bathrooms which are shared They are kept clean and comfortable and are equipped with walk-in showers.​

​Food and Dietary Requirements

​What about meals?

Meals are prepared within the family home and shared together around the table. Guests eat alongside members of the Alami family, sharing food, conversation and time. The cooking reflects traditional Moroccan home cooking, using organic vegetables, pulses and halal beef, lamb, fish and chicken. Meals are nourishing, generous and prepared with care.

​Can dietary needs be accommodated?

Yes. Dietary needs are received with care wherever possible. Guests are kindly asked to share any dietary requirements at least two weeks in advance, so that preparations can be made thoughtfully.​

What is the climate like?

Rabat enjoys a generally mild climate. For current conditions and seasonal patterns, you may wish to

check the weather here, to prepare for your arrival

 

​What about health and medical care?

A basic first aid kit is available in the home. Rabat also has well regarded private clinics and doctors. Should medical care be needed, access to private healthcare is readily available and of a good standard.​

 

How do arrangements and practical details work?

Details regarding participation, availability and practical arrangements are shared directly with guests as part of the booking and pre retreat preparation.

We occasionally share updates and practical information on our Instagram and Facebook pages in the lead up to arrivals. Guests are welcome to follow if they would like.
